Matt Sullivan of the Cianbro Corporation uses a jackhammer Thursday to break up some extra asphalt that had been added to the shoulder of the road for construction vehicles to pass over during reconstruction work on the A. Piatt Andrew Bridge in Gloucester. The asphalt removal was the final touch in the reconstruction work on the northbound side of the bridge. Work on the southbound side is expected to wrap up today, bringing to an end the final phase of a bridge reconstruction project that began in 2008.
