Arly Macario, a senior at Gloucester High School and member of the Gloucester Youth Leadership Council, waits for a camera crew to set up a close-up shot Thursday while making a Public Service Announcement at the corner of Nautilus and Atlantic roads in Gloucester. Cape Ann TV, together with the Healthy Gloucester Collaborative, the Gloucester Youth Council and actress and teacher Heidi Dallin are producing the PSA to warn teens about the dangers of impaired/drugged driving. Scenes were also shot near Good Harbor Beach. The spot will be shown at Gloucester High School and aired on Cape Ann TV. It shows two scenarios: one in which a drugged driver blows through a stop sign and crashes into a car with a father and three little girls in it, and another in which a sober driver (played by Macario) persuades her friend to let her drive. She stops at the sign and the father and children pass safely by.
