Preparing for Mother of Grace Feast

Catherine Fontana, president of the Mother of Grace Club, cleans the window at the club at 48 Washington Street in Gloucester Tuesday in preparation for this year's Mother of Grace Feast, which will be held on September 7. Activities leading up to the feast will begin with a recital of the rosary at 7 pm this Thursday, the first day of a Novena -- nine straight days of reciting the rosary. On Friday, Sept. 5, and Saturday, Sept. 6, there will be live music at the club, and on Sunday Sept. 7 the feast will be observed with a High Mass at 8 am at Saint Ann Church, a 2 pm benediction service at the club, followed by the annual procession of the Mother of Grace statue through the streets, and a candlelight procession at 8:45 that night.
