Gloucester: Seniors at the Rose Baker Senior Center in Gloucester are designing and working to sew 18 quilts depicting each neighborhood in Gloucester. Each quilt depicts a different neighborhood with its distinctive iconic landmarks. Seven are in progress so far as a collaborative project to depict Gloucester as a community of neighborhoods. They would love people to help. Stop by the Rose Baker Senior Center between 10 a.m. and noon on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays and go upstairs to the art room to participate. Working on a quilt depicting the Boulevard neighborhood on Monday morning are, from left: Ida Spinola, art director Juni Van Dyke, Judy Williams and Pauline Dion. Some other quilts in progress are on the wall behind them.
