Samuel Appleyard, 4, makes a saucy face during the Wild West Fest at the Essex Library on Tuesday. There were many western-themed activities and crafts including making sheriff's badges out of cookies, lasso the cowboy boots, archery and pony rides. Special foods included "cactus" punch, beef jerky, trail mix and biscuits and jam.
