Willie "Loco" Alexander of Gloucester, veteran punk rocker and a post-Lou Reed member of the Velvet Underground, leads a workshop on musical creativity and songwriting Friday in the Youth Acting Workshop at the Gloucester Stage Company. The students learned about rhythm and how to build a song up from the foundations, and they collaborated with Alexander on one song about the Gloucester Stage and another about macaroni. The weekly Youth Actors program, taught by Heidi Dallin, continues through August 15 and will include special appearances by playwright Israel Horovitz, actress Paula Plum and others.
