Thacher Island Seagull Control
MIKE SPRINGER/Staff photo
A protective herring gull swoops over the head of Frank Drauszewski, Deputy Refuge Manager with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, as he searches the rocky north coast of Thacher Island for gull nests. Drauszewski and his team of biologists are trying to control the gull population in order to re-introduce the endangered roseate tern to the island.
