Seuss Day in Manchester
MIKE SPRINGER/Staff photo/
Second grader Isabelle Donnellant-Valade checks her hair while having lunch Monday on Dr. Seuss Day at Manchester Memorial School. Isabelle was dressed as Cindy Lou Who from "The Ginch Who Stole Christmas." The trick to keeping her pigtails standing up? Chopsticks. The beloved children's author Dr. Seuss (Theodor Geisel) would have turned 111 years old Monday. To celebrate, students and faculty at Manchester Memorial and other schools on Cape Ann read Seuss stories and dressed up as Suess characters.
