Storm Drain Collapses, Stranding Truck
MIKE SPRINGER/Staff photo
Kevin Hunt of Tally's Towing calls on his phone for a bigger tow truck after a sewer catch-basin collapsed under the weight of an oil delivery truck Wednesday on Summer Street, Route 127, in Manchester. The truck, which Hunt estimated to weigh about 65,000 pounds, became stuck when its rear wheels fell into the hole. Manchester police directed traffic to detour around the site while a heavy-duty crane truck arrived and lifted the oil truck out. No one was injured.
