Flags were placed at gravesites throughout the city's cemeteries on Tuesday in preparation for both Memorial Day, because many firefighters also were veterans, but also for the upcmoing Firefighters Memorial Service to be held at 8:45 a.m. on Sunday, June 10. A parade will step off from the Department of Public Works on Poplar Street and make its way to Cherry Hill Cemetery to the Firefighters Memorial. If it rains, the ceremony will be held at the fire department's headquarters.
