MIKE SPRINGER/Gloucester Daily Times. Members of the Manchester Essex High School "Green Scholars" program pull an old lobster trap out of the sand while cleaning up Black Beach Saturday in Manchester. The day of service was the idea of junior Lauren Coogan and was organized by Coogan and her classmate Sam Koufman. In addition to cleaning up White and Black beaches, the students, who were supervised by teacher Eric Magers, were visited by Liz Duff, education coordinator of the Mass Audubon Endicott Sanctuary and Salt Marsh Science Project, who explained the potential impact of rising ocean levels on Cape Ann.
