Birds of Prey

Jim Parks, a licensed wildlife rehabilitator with the Leverett-based Wingmasters educational group, introduces a barred owl to a group of students Friday during a presentation on birds of prey at West Parish Elementary School in Gloucester. Parks showed the students a variety of animals native to Cape Ann, including a peregrine falcon, an eastern screetch owl and a red-tailed hawk. All of the birds had been rescued from the wild and have physical disabilities that prevent them from being released.
