The film, with a German title translated as "The Woman By His Side," is the 24th in a series based on, or inspired by, the works of British romance novelist Katie Fforde. "The Woman By His Side" is the fourth of six movies in the series that are being filmed this year. The production company started filming in eastern Massachusetts in May, and will continue until about Thanksgiving. The crew arrived at Good Harbor Beach at about sunrise Tuesday and filmed scenes on the beach through mid morning, when they moved to the parking lot for the scene with the green screen. In post-production, an urban Boston scene will be put in place of the blank green. More scenes were filmed later in the day on Atlantic Avenue. More Cape Ann filming is expected for this fall, including scenes later this week near the Rockport police station.
