Allegra Boverman/Gloucester Daily Times Don Peavey, the public works inspector for the City of Gloucester, shows where he would mark the pavement to save the hand-cut granite curbing, and also marked other places on the pavement where utlities are located such as gas and water lines, other dig safe markings, and sewer manhole covers to remove and replace once the street and sidewalks are redone, should a new hotel be built on the site of the Birdseye Building on Commercial Street in Gloucester.
