Rebecca McCullough of Myakka, Fla., works with Argentos, one of the horses in the Herrmann's Royal Lipizzan Stallions Show, shortly after the troupe's arrival Thursday at Cogswell's Grant in Essex. Lippizans were first bred in the sixteenth century in the Habsburg Empire, and are famous for their dramatic leaps and plunges that were originally developed as aggressive battle maneuvers. The Herrmann's Royal Lipizzan Stallions show will be held this Saturday and Sunday at 2 p.m. at the historic Cogswell's Grant farm on Spring Street in Essex.
