Pablo Roldan and Albert Ellis bring seawater to a badly injured young seal Tuesday at Old House Cove in Gloucester. The seal had a gash in its belly and a deep puncture wound on it's side. After seeking help from several agencies, Ellis was able to reach biologist Mendy Garron of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), who asked him to send photographs of the injured animal. After looking at the pictures, the biologist wrote back to say that the wounds did not appear to be infected, and that the best thing to do was to keep a safe distance and allow the seal to rest. "These little ones tend to get very beat up when learning to swim on their own," she said.<br />
