Ken Whittaker, conservation agent for the city of Gloucester, uses binoculars to look at a piping plover nesting site Thursday on the parking lot at Good Harbor Beach. Whittaker urged anyone interested in seeing the rare birds to bring binoculars and stay well behind the yellow tape to avoid stressing them.
