PAUL BILODEAU/Staff photo. 11/5/18 Hannah Olson, 11, left, and Kassidy Klopotoski, 10, talk about their project that earned them the Junior Girl Scots Bronze Award during a ceremony at the Beeman School. 11/5/18
The Bronze Award is the highest award a Junior Girl Scout (grades 4-5) can achieve, by planning and leading a sustainable project that makes a positive change in their community.
Their project "Tables Games" involved building one new picnic table, and painting it, along with 3 other existing tables, at Beeman Elementary School with a series of board games.
The game tables are designed to allow students an interactive way to play, collaborate, and get to know one another. They are an avenue to allow students, who perhaps cannot physically participate at recess or who need a friend, to find a playing partner and not be alone.
