Bringing in the Lobster Traps

Lobsterman Gussy Contrino rows a skiff full of traps to the wharf Monday at Rockport Harbor, as he gradually winds down his lobstering season. Contrino, 70, said he expects to have all the traps in for the year within a month. "I'm an old man -- not like the young bucks," he joked. "The cold weather bothers my fingers and joints." Contrino started fishing and lobstering alone about 57 years ago, when he was 13 years old, and for several years before that he accompanied his fisherman father.
